The Nissan Leaf hatchback is a five-seat electric car, and is to be launched in select U.S. and Japanese markets this year. This is a pure electric vehicle (EV) with no gasoline engine, but claims performance similar to a V6 engine and a range up to 100 miles. Here are a few other highlights:

An official retail price has not been announced for the Nissan Leaf. Industry experts are targeting the price to be between $25,000 and $33,000 U.S. Dollars, depending on package details.
